Traducelo provides text and speech-assisted translations with short contextual explanations. We prioritize user privacy and collect only the information needed to process each translation request.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 User Input

• Text you type and optional speech you record (speech is transcribed on-device).
• Input is sent as text (without audio) to our servers solely to generate the translation and explanation you requested. Speech is never sent to our servers.

2.2 Profile Information

• Native language and target language, provided by you during setup.
• Used only to determine translation direction and improve accuracy.

2.3 Automatically Collected Technical Data

• Basic device and app performance metrics (e.g., request latency, error codes).
• No analytics containing message content.
• Analytics are limited, anonymized, and may be disabled where platform settings allow.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your input only to:

1. Determine translation direction.
2. Generate a translation and brief explanation.
3. Deliver the result back to your device.

We do not:

• Store your messages long-term.
• Use your messages to train models.
• Sell or share your messages with third parties.
• Use your input for advertising, personalization, or analytics.

Request payloads may be briefly held in memory or short-term logs for operational debugging, but are automatically purged and never retained beyond what is necessary for reliability and security.

4. Data Retention

• Translation input and output: Not stored after the response is delivered.
• Analytics: Retained in aggregate, without message content.
• Profile info: Stored locally on your device; not used for tracking or cross-device behavior unless you opt into account sync (if offered in the future).

5. Speech and On-Device Processing

Speech input is transcribed on your device using native OS APIs when supported. Only the resulting text is sent to our servers.

6. Security

• All data in transit uses modern encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
• Access to operational logs is restricted and audited.
• We do not maintain long-term databases containing user messages.

7. Children's Privacy

Traducelo is not intended for children under 13.

Children under 13 should not use the app without parental consent.

8. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party infrastructure providers (e.g., cloud hosting, AI language models), but they are restricted from accessing any data not directly applicable to the translation request.

Third-party language model APIs used for translation do not have access to any identifying information about the user.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website. Continued use of Traducelo means you accept the updated policy.
